Applications are now open for the 2026 Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOP) Program. Open to applicants from all IORA Member States who are within six years of completing their highest qualification, the program offers the opportunity to undertake a self-directed project with the Blue Carbon Hub at the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre in Perth, Australia. Participants will build expertise in blue carbon science, finance, or policy while contributing to practical solutions for the protection and restoration of blue carbon ecosystems across the Indian Ocean region. The program runs from 5 October to 27 November 2026, with applicants encouraged to nominate a collaborator or receive assistance in identifying one.
